Kurai Extravaganza

Promise me no promises,
So will I not promise you:
Keep we both our liberties,
Never false and never true:

The Queen

This one goes out to the Dark Princess
I looked for her and she found me

*~ Kurai-hime explains ~*

If anyone would happen to be interested in the person behind Kurai-hime.webs.com, here you can find some information about me...

My birthname is of little signifiquance here as I would prefer to go by as Elise online, which is my 2nd name, or the title of Queen or Dark Princess, which was the name I started this website with

Now, it may seem a little too much to use another name online, as until now I used my own name here, but I assure you that it is a necessary measure as there are certain entries which ough not to be linked by to me by - among others - the King and Queen. I am not ashamed of my likes and dislikes, nor of the fact that I have this website online but that does not mean that my parents and family need to know. I never let them read things I write, and I'd like to keep things that way.

As for my age, I am eighteen years old. I recently managed to graduate high school, and will study law after the summer holiday.

Now listen up

She's razor sharp
If she don't get her way
She'll slice you apart
Now she's a cool, cool BLACK
She moves like a cat
If you don't get her name
Well you might not make it back

She's got the looks that kill, That kill
She's got the looks that kill, That kill
She's got the look

*~ Looks ~*

I have darkblonde hair, green-grey eyes (I have never been able to figure out what colour they are exactly) and am of regular height.

During the past year, my style has matured and became more chique. Now, even though this is something I would have hated a couple of years ago, I actually like it. It seems I have now found the thing that suits me, for now, I feel more secure than I have done in years, concerning my appearance. I have a thing for dresses, and skirts, so this is what you'll see my wear most of the time. The keywords are: Elegant, chique, not to revealing (though my parents seem to disagree somehow... <_<).

Watchin x-files with no lights on, were dans la maison

I hope the smoking mans in this one
Like harrison ford Im getting frantic
Like sting Im tantric
Like snickers, guaranteed to satisfy
Like kurasawa I make mad films
Okay I dont make films
But if I did theyd have a samurai

*~ Things I like ~*

I'm interested in a lot of things, such as psychology, philosophy, literature, religion, politics, history, I love reading, listening to music and doing art. At the moment, doing art mostly means painting. Writing, of course, which is what I do most. Well, what else do I enjoy? Having decent conversations, either in real life or over messenger. Thinking, and studying. What can I say about it? I'm just a quite boring person, I guess. But, having a large general knowledge has always been in my advantage... and I just love all those little facts which come up in my mind at the right time to be used in poems, stories or debates.

There are also some other things I am very interested in, of which you may discover some when reading the entries I have made on my blog. However, there is no need to post them here, wouldn't you agree? And besides, they usually pop up in my head when writing, but I wouldn't be able to name them out of blue.

This one is by the books
Chapter for chapter
Word for word
This formula in disguise

*~ Books ~*

Reading is one of those things you can find me doing quite a lot.
Here you can find some books which I completely adore

  • 'Kafka on the shore' by Haruki Murakami
  • Works by Friedrich Nietzsche
  • Il Principe by Machiavelli
  • The praise of folly (Moriae encomium), by Erasmus of Rotterdam
  • I, Elizabeth, by Rosalind Miles
This last book, I bought at a jumble sale on Queen's day, and though it is about to fall apart, I am very happy with it, as it is a fascinating story, writen in a way which made me re-read it many times. But ofcourse, this counts for the other books which I mentioned, too.

Daddies drive around, Mommies work night shift
Sweet dreams, sleep little precious
Lay down in that music box
Escape in the sound of that music box

*~ Music *~

Music is one of those things I can't live without... I am quite fond of death metal, especially CoF, Anorexia Nervosa, D'espair'sRay and Moi dix Mois, but also of Versailles, Katatonia, Theatre des Vampires, british bands such as the Arctic Monkeys, The kooks, of Amy Winehouse and Voicst, and of singers such as Georges Moustaki, Boudewijn de Groot and Reinhard Mey. To put it short, I am a music addict, and appriciate many different things, though it mostly depends on the ambiance which the music creates and the lyrics.

It's not time to make a change,

Just relax, take it easy.
You're still young, that's your fault,
There's so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I'm happy.

*~ Family and friends ~*

I love my family. Even though I may sometimes speak harsh words about them, I do care about them very much, and thus I do not accept it that anyone speaks bad of them. That is something only I may do. Of course, they are annoying as hell, but that does not mean I do not care about them, and do not respect them in a certain way.

As for friends, over the years, I have had many friends and discarted them just as easily. HOwever, I think that the friendships which I am in now will lass for quite a long time, or at least I do hope so. It is true that my friends are no longer a world apart for me, but that does not mean that they do not mean a lot to me...

The moon is your guide
The stars they have kissed her
As she goes gently by
Light as a babys eye
Save on a fairytales dream

And start a new dream

*~ Dreams ~*

There are many things which I dream about, some realistic, and some... not quite so. For instance, I'd like to be a publishing author, but seeing that I am not exactly that talented, that is a dream which will be a dream. Having a hell of a carreer, though, is an option which is still open. Anyway, dreams are dreams, private, and not to be shared with others lightly, so I will leave it with that.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
silver white winters that melt into springs,
these are a few of my favorite things.

Royal?
There are many royals for whom I have a certain admiration, but only two whom I consider to
be truly interestingThe first one
was Elisabeth Tudor, the later Elizabeth I, Queen of England and
Queen of Ireland. The second one was her mother, Anne Boleyn, who was a very strong woman
who did everything she could what she wanted. Even though she was only queen for a couple
of years, she is still a very interesting woman, and quite a rolemodel, in a certain way.
