A little thought on 'love'
My favourite song at the moment is an old, country-like song by Joan Baez. It is named 'Love is just a four letter word'. The strong thing about this song is that the title comes back as a line in the song and it indicates the way the 'I' person thinks about love as the song is what love can be viewed liked at different moments in life.
Shakespeare wrote, some hundred years ago, "What's in a name". He was right. It could as well have been named Cheese, for instance, or Lily (but of course, that would cause some problems for yuri-fans, as the Japanese translation of lily is used for fxf pairings - femmeslash, as it can be called too). Of course this is silly, but my point is, 'love' is just a name,too. It is - in fact - just a four letter word. It is the meaning which we give to it which makes it special. It are not those three little words which bring a smile to your face, but the feelings attached to it, which the speaker 'confesses' by saying them. "I love you" is only an indication thereof, an expression. In bare words, stripped from all this bagage, without all the feelings to it, it is just as meaningful as 'could you please pass the milk?' or 'my favourite skirt is made of satin'.
I am not trying to undo those three words from their magic,but I would like you to realzie that it are not the words which express the actual love (I admit I am guilty now of using it still), not the stupid words which have been used too often in wrong ways.
Love shows in the way people behave towards the other. It shows in hundreds of things, especially in the littlest things. But not in a word. It can not be captured, no matter how hard we try.
Really, love is just a four letter word.

Wouldn't you consider this to be an appropriate entry to be written on Saint Valentine's eve? Due to a little prohibition to use my (well, any, if I am honest) computer, I just post it today.
Hoping you will all have a lovely Saint Valentine's day.
Signing out,
{Queen Elise}
