'Denn wer nicht ist wie alle,
dem wird die Zeit vergällt.
Das ist tröstlich und moralisch.
So wie es euch gefällt: Kitsch! Kitsch!'

Next to you...

In Dora's course, I listened to my mp3-player, and at a certain point, almost at the end of the period, a song by Boudewijn de Groot was played, named "Naast jou" (this means 'Next to you').

It is a song about breaking away from a person and a very beautiful line in this song says "I will be dreaming of exactly the same things (as I did before)".
The reason that I mention this is that the Queen once asked me whether I would not have gotten an haircut if my boyfriend would not have broken up with me back then. Also, E-chan kept bugging me about changing after the very same break-up. Indeed, I did change. I became more free, which I really can no consider to be a bad thing.

My point is, women are 'famous' for changing after a break-up. Not necessarily do they change in a good way, of course, but usually they do. It is as if a relationship held one back in a certain way; chained one down to whom she was at that very moment; at the moment the words were spoken which undid the spell which was restraining her. Magic? Maybe. But magic which we cast ourselves, unconsciously, in our mind. It is as if we unconsciously thought that by changing even the slightest, would cause the spell of love to break.

Thus, when love wears off, we suddenly take a leap and change all those things at once, which otherwise would have changed more slowly, over the course of time. But do not say things would not have changed otherwise. Because, they would have, inevitable.

Changes can not be held back, no matter how much others wish to do so...
