A secret obsession

Posted at 03:03 PM on March 03, 2008
Everyone has something silly which they totallly love even though the entire world thinks they are too old for it, or that it is stupid. Some obsession which they do not share with others out of fear of laughter and stupid comments. My obsession - apart from books, philosophy and all such things which most people loathe - are stuffed animals .

A few months ago, I went shopping with a friend of mine, during a free period, and there was this shop where they had the most adorable little bears. Couldn't help myself but buy three, one in each colour. And to make it even more silly, they have actually been given a name! Two are named after very famous artists, whose works I like alot, Mucha and Monet;  and one, a very cute white one, has a fantasy name I came up with and is named Bo-mi. They keep my stuffed bat, Kurai (from the IKEA), another little white bear Miimi - which I had bought a few months earlier, my panda bear which I have had since I was only a baby - Pandalien, and my bear in princess dress, Princess Anne
, company.

Over the years, my mother has had a habit of throwing away a lot of our stuffed animals, and thus I have lost a lot of precious friends, but still some of them can now be found on the beds of my brothers. But that is a different story...

Let me tell you something else: I actually talk to my stuffed friends (blushes). If I am too tired to write, and still need to get something off my mind, I talk to them. Not always, I want to bother someone with the thoughts in my head but still I want to share them with someone. My stuffed animals are great for that. They never make cruel comments, but rather seem to listen (It's not as strange for me to think this as you might believe. After all, when I was five, I believed Bear Jan - a huge stuffed bear which my beloved grandfather gave me
- actually ate candy. Oh sweet memories of youth!).

Well, that is one of my little secrets... Shows a rather different side of me, compared to the impression I usually tend to make online, wouldn't you agree?

Wishing you a good night,
