I know that
some of my friends are having all sorts of crazy plans, but please, I do not
quite like such things. I just want a quiet birthday, and nothing silly or
whatsoever. That is just not my thing. You really do not make me happy by funny
things and carrying out crazy plans.

Just a nice little gathering with friends, without anything overdone or silly. Becoming eighteen, after all, is just the same as becoming seventeen, nineteen, or forty for heaven?s sake! There is not much special about it at all, and I intend to keep it this way.
I ask you to refrain from all these silly things.
